Chanie Wilschanski is an Early Childhood Leadership Coach and CEO of Schools of Excellence where she has worked with hundreds of EC Directors and School Owners who are working to build a School of Excellence with higher staff retention, teacher motivation, parent partnership, and collaborative culture.
Chanie began her journey over a decade ago, teaching toddlers at the acclaimed Preschool of the Arts in New York City for 8 years until she continued her path into high studies and earned her Masters in EC and Special Education.
In 2015, she started training teachers and school leaders on the HOW part of creating excellence in their schools.
Chanie has been featured in publications and websites like NBC News, FairyDust Teaching, KangarooTime, she has also been a guest on Himama and Early Years TV.
Now a wife and mother of 4, her hands are full and she understands what it takes to lead a large centre and have a full-time job at home, and it breaks my heart when I see so many dedicated school leaders sacrificing all of their time with their family and all of their self-care (what self-care?) to a school that feels like it’s constantly getting away from them.
Chanie has trained thousands of school Director’s and Owners in building a School of Excellence by understanding and honing the Three Cs:
… around the standards, expectations, and vision of your school. (Over 90% of directors don’t know how to articulate this in the teachers’ language)
… as in, teachers’ willingness to take risks, share bold ideas and go beyond the familiar. (You don’t need to change your hiring – you need to change the environment and stop subconsciously demoralizing your teachers)
.. as in, teachers’ technical know-how to get the job done. (Most directors assume that because teachers are adults, they have basic professional skills. Nope)
